We wanted a small, private, simple funeral for my dad, which would have been in keeping with his wishes. We didn’t want the anonymity of a direct cremation, of the type that you see advertised on TV these days, nor did we want the bells and whistles of a large funeral. Simon and Lee provided the perfect solution. Everything was explained clearly from the start, and we had a small, close family gathering at The Vale crematorium, which was perfect for our needs and wishes. At a very difficult time, I am so grateful that I came across Craddock and Russell.  We wanted a private cremation and dealing with one person was of the utmost importance to me.  I cannot praise Simon enough, he was kind, empathetic and kept me informed every step of the way and certainly went over and above.  On the day itself, Simon and Lee were wonderful and handled it all with respect and warmth.  Simon then personally delivered the ashes to my home and stayed chatting, for quite some time, to make sure that I was alright. The service provided by Craddock & Russell was truly outstanding. I contacted them after my dad died quite suddenly and we were unsure which funeral director to use. My dad did not want a traditional funeral but I was still keen for the arrangements to be handled by a local,  independent company as I felt that would give a more personalised service. From the first time I spoke to Simon I felt reassured by his calm and helpful manner.  He talked me through what would happen and kept me informed every step of the way. Although it was a direct cremation, Simon informed us of the time and date of the cremation so that we could mark this in our own way. He was incredibly kind and respectful, and showed such attention to detail throughout.  He helped to make a very sad time much easier for the whole family.  I am so pleased that I chose Craddock & Russell and cannot recommend them highly enough.
